Hi. My loft - in a 1930ish house - has had pigeons roosting in it for an extended period some years ago. (Its actually top flar in a conversion)
I have removed the old heavily contaminated insulation and vacuumed out most of the droppings. A joyful task. I want to disinfect loft. Local...
Sorry I was being an idiot. I'm insulating between ceiling joists in the loft. Sorry, really tired atm and well, what can i say. It was only contemplating foil that i realised my error
Hi. I have a loft which has joists with gaps between about 300mm a few a little more maybe 310. I need to insulate cheaply as possible to 100mm.

The council official inspecting the work is the same person who...
Yes... disappointed doesn't cover it. I've lived there for about 15 years and always put off building new stairs partly by cost and partly by lack of understanding of the rules and how to work out timber sizes or support them properly. I've retired and moved in with someone else, Am...
Thanks very much for that. I'm trying to decide if I should just accept it or if it's bad enough say no to. I'm letting the flat for a bit before i sell, so wont see if it deteriorates And frankly it worries the .... out of me.

A builder has made this, but all the treads are fixed to the stringers with three screws at each end, into the endgrain, just butt joint. In places you can see light between the end of the tread and the stringer...
