    painting facia boards

Thanks dor that, I haven't tried water bases gloss before, as I assumed a oil based one would be best, but will give it a go as it can't give a worse result than the Weathershield

    painting facia boards

The wooden facia board on the south side of my house has a lot of shakes in it. I've tried removing all old paint sanding and filling them prior to painting with Dulux weathershield primer and top coat, but within 2 years it had cracked and peeled off Any advice other than remove and fit...

    cost of decorating

I know plumbers and electricians rates are high, but what I wanted to know was whether or not this was a good price for a painter/decorator

    cost of decorating

I am looking to repaper a room 12ftx12ft with dado rail. The existing is a painted blown paper. I have been quoted £230 labour to remove existing, make good and repaper, with paper suplied by me. Is this a reasonable charge, and if not what should I be looking at?

I have resprayed classic cars and bikes using cellulose, but have never tried doing a local repair using clear over base. My question therefore is can you blow in a small area...

I referred to them as terracotta because they are a lightweight reddish clay cast patterned tile of similar composition to clay garden pots.

    replacing broken roof tile

I would like to replace a broken terracotta tile on my bungalow roof, and seek advice I have some spare original tiles ( They don't have nail fixings but appear to clip onto the battens) and would like to know how to remove the broken half that is left, and insert the new one. Is it a case of...

    extending cicuit wires

I have replaced my consumer unit with one having MCBs, and find that the ends of two circuits are too short to connect to the earth and neutral rails. My question therefor is can I extend them within the cu by using connector blocks?

    consumer unit

Checked with the guy who did the testing, Apparently the cu does not have a back and the wires could therefore chafe on the wall, cause a temperature rise and set fire to the wooden surround. The regulations call for cables to be enclosed, but not in the building fabric hence the failure...

    consumer unit

True, but that's partly tied into what makes a circuit. If you have both cables from 1 MCB you only have 1 circuit... [
