    Recruitment

All I could add is that the person specification and job description supplied as part of the recruitment pack must clearly identify the type of applicant wanted - so to should the advert. If these are stringent enough then it will reduce the number of unsuitable applicants. If your interview...

Can you explain what a dead leg is please?

Boiler comes on when I flush the loo!

I had the water pressure turned up yesterday - the water company removed a plastic restrictor valve from the water meter and now we have around 2 bar of water pressure - not great but better than what we had. Since then if we flush the loo the boiler fan comes on after the loo has filled back...

    Recruitment

I maybe talking completely out of place here so apologies if I am....... I work in Human Resources and when placing adverts for 'qualified staff' (and I'm talking NHS here and not plumbing/Gas) we try to use a relevant journal for the type of staff we wish to attract. We use an advertising...

Baxi have been in touch today with the ongoing boiler situation. They are still awaiting a new printed circuit board for the baxi platinum - they hope to have this soon. My thought is, for a boiler they say there isn't a problem with they are going to a lot of trouble so this makes me think...

    Water Meters

Does anyone know whether water meters have any effect on water pressure? Our water pressure isn't very high and yet it is normally very good for this area. We've had Portsmouth Water out once and they said something was stuck on the meter - they freed this up but said it might happen again and...

Brilliant last PS comment Agile - had me in fits of giggles!!!! Baxi have said they'll replace full cost of boiler if they cannot solve the ongoing problem with the boiler switching off when in CH mode by 15th Sept. I want full cost of boiler plus full cost of fitting another one...

You guys are brilliant in coming back to me with your replies - again very much appreciated. Can I just ask, are you all Corgi? We paid £2300 - that was for the new boiler, 2 new rads and alterations to pipework, a new drain off point, disconnection of a gas point in the kitchen, a new room...

    Baxi Platinum 24

Yes I did know that but after finding that we've already paid out for one clean and that wasn't sufficient i'm unhappy to part with £300 if it was possible to achieve the same result ourselves with two or three cleans and drain downs.

    Baxi Platinum 24

Can the same effect be achieved by doing a couple/three system cleans and drain downs ourselves?

Thanks peeps for your replies - much appreciated. Not sure how old the system is/was - rads are old and we have already replaced 2 and as we decorate through the place we'll do the others but it won't be done this year. Can anyone explain what happens with a power clean? Do the rads have...

How much should I expect to pay for a power clean on a bungalow with 8 rads then? Also, the hot water temperature sensor was rocketing up to 90 without shutting down - surely there must have been a fault with the boiler to let the water in the heat exchanger get that high - surely it should...
