Thanks that makes sense indeed regarding a freezing loft. However, regarding the trace heating, I currently have my boiler in the garage and that does not seem to have a need for this and it must at least be as cold as the loft if not even colder.
I have got a spacious loft and the house is a semi. The bathroom is straight underneath the loft.
The water heater could go easily on the brick wall where there is no neighbouring property. Come to think of it, the flue obviously couldn't be fitted inside the chimney. So if it would go on the...
I am planning to have a gas water heater fitted in my loft. It could possibly go on the wall with a horizintal flue going out. However, if possible, I would have it rather fitted on the chimney. Is this at all possible or would this cause problems for the water heater when I turn on the...
Thanks for your responses. I should have added that I have a family of four and a power shower, who all want a shower in the morning. Therefore, would a pumped system be able to reheat enough water, without having to tell people that its time to get out of the shower?
A multipoint gas heater...
Hi,
I've got an open vented sysstem at present, which works fine but I am fed up that the hot water runs out. I can't afford changing the system and change it to a combi boiler.
Has anybody had any experience with disconnecting the hot water from the open vented system and connect a gas run...
Thanks TicklyT.
I've read about this flange before but was hoping to get around it on my system. As I have a 3 bar pump can't I pump hot water to the whole house, have a cold supply from the storage tank going to the pump (and Shower) and the rest of the house on the cold mains.
Maybe I...
I want to fit a shower pump on my system.
All the cold water taps in the house are are fed by the mains. I have been advised to put a cold feed from the storage tank to the pump and then to the shower.
However, I am not sure what to do with the hot feed. Do I have to make a seperate feed...
Ok. So I would have to run an extra pipe towards the shower, which should not be such a large job.
However, what should I do with the hot water supply? Will it not cause a problem if the rest of the house is going to have hot pumped water but has cold from the mains?
Hi, you might have fitted the soilstack already but just in case you haven't: I've just done the plumbing on my bathroom and done away with the ugly stack, which I've replaced with two Hepvo's. After a lot off research on the web I've found enough info that set my mind at ease. So far everything...
I have a gasboiler with an open vented system in my house, which still works fine. I am planning to fit a shower pump (positive head)in the airing cupboard to supply water to a thermostat bath / shower tap and a seperate bathtek steam shower unit. I have seen overviews of how to connect the...
