Gosh this not as simple as I thought,right so I need to remove the one wire connection and connect the two from ceiling into connector block? Would a junction box do? I assume then that the earth is needed to earth the other lights we have in room? Thanks

On closer look its two earth coming from ceiling but converted into one,still fine to go ahead?

That's great thanks,yes we didn't want to cut it incase it might be needed in future. Its already got sleeving on it so could I just tape the exposed ends or is it best to sleeve them?
