Hi, can anyone recommend some downlights for the bathroom. I had a look and most of the bathrooms ones in screw fix seem to be integrated units, but I would like one where I can change the bulb as I am to sure on soft-white or daylight! One will be in ceiling above shower and the other three...

    Some bathroom renovation help!

For extraction I'm looking at the envirovent silent 100 with continuous on and moisture sensor and overrun timer. Might consider going centrifugal.. The tiler said he will tank the shower area - will that be good enough? On the other side of the wall is a sink. I am thinking a full wall will...

Double glazing windows installers who make their own windows

Hi, I am getting quotes on new windows and door (bifold). What's the general feeling about companies/double glazing windows installers who manufacture their own windows and doors? They say it meets all the standards but I still have concerns... Are they generally better than branded or worse...

    Bifold door installation

Hi, with summer coming and the kids getting older, I was thinking about replacing my traditional double glazed windows (large pane with casement opening on either side) to bifold doors for access to garden (there is a separate door to access garden so this would not be only/main exit). I had a...

When is a competent persons scheme electrician required?

Thanks guys. Just a follow up - you said all work should come with a certificate - is there a standard certificate or form it should take? Or is it what the electrician decides? I'm starting to think just to go with a scheme member to be sure!
