Water retained in Bosch washing machine after draining.

Hi I have a Bosch WFX 3268GB/23 washing machine. It never fully removes the water between rinses, and at the end of a wash. The result was a stinking machine (and clothes) due to a mould build up. I've sorted this by doing regular blind boil washes, and being assiduous about mopping up all...

Blue thing in Ideal Standard tap pack

KMeeres, you're so close! :D Have heard from the manufacturer today, who say's 'It's a key to remove the spray nozzle for cleaning or changing'. Great pity that they couldn't have given some sort of clue to this in the instructions! Many thanks to you all.

Blue thing in Ideal Standard tap pack

John D may be the closest? These are expensive taps, they may have this fuctionality. The manufacturers instructions were all pictures, possibly designed so that it didn't matter where in Europe you were from. No pictures of this part at all. No written instructions. Today asked at a...

Blue thing in Ideal Standard tap pack

Hi Just been delivered new Ideal Standard taps, and on checking the contents realised that there's a blue thing in each tap pack - which we have no idea of how to use. No instructions, nothing. It's sort of square blue plasticy composite, with irregular bites around the edges, and a sort...

Condensing boiler - wall vented - clouds!

It's good to get grounded! The thought of every other house doing the same thing in a few years time makes me feel a lot better. Thanks for being sensible, you've helped a lot :D

Condensing boiler - wall vented - clouds!

We're in the unusual situation of having council land abutting our property, as already stated. This land takes the form of a 'quarter of a pie' shaped grass segment, with a tree in the middle. We have no house or other building near the wall where the vent is. The nearest house to this wall...

Condensing boiler - wall vented - clouds!

It's another option, and I'll look into it. We're in the strange situation of the side of our house butting straight up against Council land. An external flue fixed to the side of our house would overhang their land. There may, or may not be a problem... Thanks for your help and ideas.

Condensing boiler - wall vented - clouds!

When the new boiler was installed we had a choice between venting through the wall, or replacing flue linings, and using the flue to vent. The difference in price was £200. We chose the cheaper option, which was to go through the outside wall. If we now wanted to get rid of the wall vent...

Condensing boiler - wall vented - clouds!

We were told NOTHING Dave. It would have cost us an extra £200 or so for flue venting at the time, which we would have willingly paid if we'd known how unsightly it  would look. Special permission had to be given by the Council, to sink the condensate pipe into their ground (which...
