To double glaze porch or not

Hi. I currently have a 3m x 2m ( approx) porch at the rear of my house. It is the main entry / exit of the house. It is fully singled glazed and the windows are about 25 to 30 years old and in reasonable condition, but needing a paint. I do not heat the porch. Once through the porch you then...

Convert Tall Kitchen Cupboard to Pullout?

What have you decided on? Did you find anything suitable for your job? I am curious as I have a somewhat larger cupboard I would like to do something similar with.

Making full use of deep cupboard

Well yes as that would mean it would be out of reach above my head halfway down the stairs!

Making full use of deep cupboard

Hi. In a bedroom I have a cupboard which I would like to make better use of. It is built in over the staircase below so the bottom of it is around 800mm from floor level. As it is 950mm deep and goes up to ceiling height, it is pretty impossible to reach the back of it. Total sizes are...

Trimming architrave that meets in room corner cut strip

    Problem stair

If I were to make up a frame are there any kind of buttons or hidden latches that could be use instead of screws etc for holding the frame in place?

    Problem stair

Thanks. That's a good idea. I have seen glass panel sections for stairs but obviously it would need to be made to measure so cost may be high. I will have a think on how your idea would look and work.

    GU10 vs Low Voltage?

Ok technically you are correct. In terms of the question I assumed it was between 230v GU10 and 12v MR16 type lamps. When I said LV I meant the 12v compared to 230v

    Problem stair

Hope that makes things clearer. There used to be something on top of newel post but that was probably taken off to help furniture access. The larger end type spindle is getting loose as everyone holds onto this when using the lower part of stair. Any ideas on modernising, having handrail...

    Problem stair

Hi. Im about to start decorating stair and landing etc and would like some thoughts on my narrow stair. I have a small set of diminishing spindles that i would like to replace with something more modern ( stainless steel rods perhaps) however if those could be easily detachable it would make...
