Thanks for the replies. Finally got a chance to look at it today and ray, you were spot on! It was a corroded terminal in the caravan socket. All sorted now and I have one happy neighbour! Thanks again, fantastic help :-)

Thank you for the reply. I'm not sure if they have a tow bar fitted, I will check in the morning. Sounds like a very likely possibility though as I cannot see anything else it could be. Unless the relay contacts are damaged and are not making contact. Thanks, I will report back what I find...

Just to let you know guys, you were spot on. Checked out the dis board today, and found the neutral connection at the main switch was VERY loose !! It probably hasnt been noticed much before as the machine is not used very often, and everything else that is fed from the board does not use...

Thanks for the replies. I located the dis board and the breaker supplying the socket today, but it was too late to do anything so first thing tomorrow I was going to have a look and check for loose terminals. If there is nothing obviously wrong though, any other suggestions at what could...

A bit of other information. It is on a saw which uses 415V 3-phase for the motor, and the neutral is needed as the control is 240V. It is plugged into a 32Amp Ceeform socket. I also unplugged the machine and tested at the socket and got the same values.

A machine in work has been intermittantly stopping, and when conducting some tests today I found a voltage between neutral and earth of around 100Volts (cant be 100% on the accuracy of these values as it was late, and I didnt write them down). When I tested phase to neutral I got L1 - N...

Thanks for the reply. That sounds like a good idea, I will look into getting some of those. The light output does not have to be fantastic, they will be more decorative than anything else.
