The ratchet mechanism will not be released until the terminal is fully crimped.
edit: does that make any sense. I've been drinking while watching the footy.
A few things we need to know:
Size of house?
Are you living there currently?
Number of socket outlets?
Number of light fittings?
Cooker/shower/heating?
Any outdoor wiring (e.g. garage/shed?)
If you're thinking about becoming a spark then make sure you've got a healthy bank balance. To do domestic wiring you need a minimum of 2 courses:
17th edition IEE regs (C&G2382)
Part P domestic installers course
My local training centre (http://www.premtrain.co.uk/courses.html) offers 2382...
Seems rather ridiculous to me. Does anyone think that cowboys, on hearing that sockets can now be fitted in bathrooms, will take any notice of zones & IP ratings?
Looking for a reasonably priced crimping tool that will crimp lugs as well as RYB crimps. Are they available?
Any personal recommendations would be welcome, ta very much.
