Any renovators on here? Is it worth putting in a new bathroom?

Thanks for everyone's replies. Estate Agent has advised it wouldn't be worth the cost of fitting a new bathroom. As expected just the basic tidying up and painting neutrally throughout so that's what we'll do.

Any renovators on here? Is it worth putting in a new bathroom?

My mum recently passed away and we're now dealing with the sale of her house, a 3 bed terraced in Greater London. It all needs modernising bar the kitchen which was fitted about 6 years ago. We'll be redecorating throughout, new carpets (existing ones are nearly 40 years old), installing...

Filling old electrical back box holes in solid walls

Hi all, I need to move/remove some existing sockets/switches and will be left with back box depth holes in solid walls. What's the best practice to fill them? Is it ok to use a bonding coat to a couple of mm shy of level, then some easifill over the top? Cheers

    Two trips in two days

Would that just be the wiring on the socket and/or fused switch? My partner has said that the washing machine has tripped something in the past but not for a long time (maybe a year). She can’t remember whether it was the MCB or RCD. That’s on the same wall as the dishwasher.

    Two trips in two days

Sorry do you mind expanding? Do you mean the consumer unit needs upgrading? To be honest I don’t think any of the big appliances were running. Certainly not washer, dryer, dishwasher, just fridge/freezer. If anything I imagine it would have been kettle or microwave but as I wasn’t in my...

    Two trips in two days

So yesterday it was the kitchen MCB that tripped. Today was the mains one on the right (RCD?)

Sadly not. But we do have some fungi growing in the garden so if it’s an expensive fix that will at least soften the blow!

    Two trips in two days

Before I call a sparky out, can anyone offer any advice? So yesterday I got home and the kitchen circuit breaker had tripped. Partner and kids home but none of them even realised so were no help in identifying what might have caused it (ie any switches being turned on off etc). This morning, I...

    Grouting vinyl floor tiles

It has been done properly. I should have said it's just hairlines where they join but they look like black lines

    Grouting vinyl floor tiles

I did wonder as what I've got is the bacteria resistant stuff so shouldn't go mouldy.

    Grouting vinyl floor tiles

We got some cheap self adhesive floor tiles for the bathroom, and there are slight gaps between each one despite my best attempts. Is it possible to 'grout' between them? If so, what to use? I have some leftover Mapei premixed Waterproof Fix and Grout but presumably this won't be any good for...

Levelling existing concrete shed base? Gravel?

I’ve got some in the garage. Never even thought of that! Only thing is the floor is already attached to the joists. Glue them to the joists so they don’t slip?

Levelling existing concrete shed base? Gravel?

Hi all, I didn’t get any response in the garden section so trying my luck here! I'm replacing the 4x6 shed at my elderly parents house. It's literally just for mower/garden tools. There is an existing concrete base but it's not very even, so when I've put the shed floor down there's some...

How to level concrete shed base? Gravel?

Hi all I'm replacing the 4x6 shed at my elderly parents house. It's literally just for mower/garden tools. There is an existing concrete base but it's not very even, so when I've put the shed floor down there's some bounce in it in different areas. What's the easiest way to level it off...
