resistance is about correct for solenoid valve, 4.5 volts for mains is bad news was you meter set on correct range when checking voltage?.have you got 220 volts at mains filter? unplug appliance before working onit. regards gazza

its worth checking the drive belt, i have known them slip on full load and it fools the motor tacho circuit into thinking its out of balance load but with lighter load no belt slip. regards gazza unplug appliance before removing any covers.

pull the knob off the dyer timer they are normally broken, u think you are turning the timer but the knob is just turning on the shaft, if the knob is broken turn the shaft with pliers just to confirm its working. regards gazza. unplug appliance before removing any covers.

sounds like the module has shorted out or the triac for the valve has locked on, if under 5 yrs indesit will charge 89.98 if out of m25 and supply parts foc. regards gazza57

its imperative that you get the earthing of the socket that the wm is plugged into and the washing machine earthing itself checked,sound like the washing machine is not earthed and you are probably getting 80-90 volts somehow through the water pipes.

its probably blown the module in l/h corner at rear of appliance looking from rear. check for burnt tracks, also remove motor plug connector and if u have multimeter check across top 2 pins should be 2-4 ohms if motor goes open circuit then machine can appear dead because the module is fed via...

that should cure problem, i would get correct part i think the hose is push fit into metering tank, by the way your hotpoint is actually a bosch made for hotpoint, thats why although they are not nice to work on they are reliable unfortunately hotpoint d/w are now indesit, say no more rgds gary
