Payment has not yet been requested so payment or witholding of is not an issue.
I have been deliberatly vague with the details and the reason for this is that at this stage I do not know if the problem I am experiencing is with the unit or the install and until I do it would be unfair of me...
Yep, a fully working system. The goods supplied must correspond with the description given, be of satisfactory quality; and be fit for the purposes.
Correct, I have never questioned or inferred that, that is not the case.
That's right THE SUPPLY OF GOODS AND SERVICES ACT 1982

Which bit of "The rights of the customer under law are against the supplier rather than the manufacturer" don't you understand?
Must dash, time for a few beers whilst watching the Patriots carry on their record breaking season on the way to receiving the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Night all :)
The installer is Corgi registered. But as I said I was literally after your opinions as to how you would deal with a similar situation as installers rather than looking for possible remedies. Hopefully they will worked out by the installer/manufacturer, whichever decides to take responsibility.
The rights of the customer under law are against the supplier rather than the manufacturer and a manufacturer's guarantee does not take those rights away.
I cannot help but think that you have taken this a little too personally for some reason.
Anyway thank you all for your time and input...
The installer has returned and to the best of his knowledge can find no fault with his work or the operational settings of the boiler.
My thoughts exactly, however he has left it as our responsability to contact the manufacturer and arrange for one of their engineers to come out.
As the...
I am simply asking for opinions.
Completely ridiculous similarity to make but as you have, do you think that nobody has ever had a car replaced due to it being faulty when supplied?
No need for you to make assumptions but just to put your mind at ease I haven't received an invoice yet so...
I'm not "expecting" a replacement unit but wanted to hear opinions from you guys as to what was the norm in that kind of situation.
That said though, a failure occurring so quickly after installation does not provide confidence in the longevity of the unit.
Playing devils advocate for a...
If you had installed a new boiler and associated upgraded gas pipe, etc and then after 4 days the boiler had a fault what would you do?
Would you replace the boiler for the customer or would you tell the customer that they need to contact the boiler manufacturer and arrange for one of their...
Since last night I have been having a problem with my boiler. The pilot light will ignite and stay lit but when the heating is switched on the boiler starts to fire up and after 20 seconds or so goes out completely. There is a noise when it tries to fore up similar to a gas hob when all the...
Springs & shock absorbers should always be replaced in pairs. Simply because they do wear so if one spring is stiffer on one side then it can cause issues with steering, braking & tyre wear.
