Hob will be directly above the oven. The existing CCU which incorporates a 13amp socket and which I would like to still use is just to one side.
So, am I ok to wire them both into this CCU with 6mm cable?
Current freestanding electric cooker (11.3kW) is connected to a terminal outlet before going to the CCU. I am replacing this with a separate double oven (4kW) and ceramic hob (6.4kW). Existing system is cabled with 6mm T&E and 32a MCB.
Main question is do the new appliances need to be wired to...
Thanks for help so far. It was an engineer not transco who came and he sprayed all the joints with leak detector (is that what you mean by bubbles?). The reason it wasn't checked out before this is that I thought it might just be old floorboards smelling.
Gasman has been out today to a gas smell around a soldered joint in the gas pipe but detected no leak either with leak detector spray or tightness test. The smell is still there. I must add the slight smell of gas has been there for 3 or 4 years (whenever I crawled around on the bedroom floor)...
