Gate motors Came Frog or FAAC 770N

Further on this I am thinking as my driveway has a slope I would probably get more water in the underground motors than usual. Somebody mentioned articulated motors like the CAME Ferni. Anyone any experience of this motor? Seems well hidden from front of gate, although at back of gate you...

Gate motors Came Frog or FAAC 770N

The gate installers do all sorts. You can have motors from 500-3000 quid. It all on budget and they let you choose whatever configuration. So I feel came and faac are within my budget and so was just asking people experience with them and future maintenance, problems, parts, etc.

Gate motors Came Frog or FAAC 770N

I am in process of choosing underground motors for my new iron gates 13ft wide, 6ft high. Any opinions between CAME Frog AE vs FAAC 770N, both 24V versions. I think both are italian manufacturers. I am assuming parts are readily available for both in the UK. Anyone prefer one over the other...

What size SWA cable for Outdoor Electric Gate and lights

I believe the figures quoted 15A@24v would be the absolute maximum draw of current and after the initial start up it is much lower than 15A. I have considered the battery backup option for these came motors. As a worse case they come with a key that unlocks the motors but as you say battery...

What size SWA cable for Outdoor Electric Gate and lights

So I was speaking to a colleague of mine about the discussions in this post and apparently one of the other guys at work used to be an electrician. So I met with him and discussed and he was nice enough to explain what an electrician may recommend. So he explained the obvious W=AxV and the...

What size SWA cable for Outdoor Electric Gate and lights

OK thanks all. I have had some useful advice here. I'll get service ducts in first and that gives me flexibility to get right cables in when it comes time for it. thanks

What size SWA cable for Outdoor Electric Gate and lights

A good idea to install service ducts and then route the SWA later on. I am all aware of gate safety but that is not my question. In fact that is why I am going for the CAME AE low voltage motors as it has built in encoders for detecting forces on the gate. I have even designed my walls and...

What size SWA cable for Outdoor Electric Gate and lights

I thought I would get some response like that. This is a DIY forum if I understand correctly. I understand Volts x Amps =Watts. Still I wanted to make sure 15A load is not on main supply cable, that how a DIYer learns these things by getting confirmation on forums like this. As I said my...

What size SWA cable for Outdoor Electric Gate and lights

Hi, Currently my driveway has been dug up and building walls and pillars. Sometime in near future I plan to get electric iron gates. I have decided I will use underground CAME Frog AE24v gate motors. The control panel for this takes a 230V supply and then has its own transformer to convert...

    Garden Retaining wall block type

Hi, Building a retaining wall on my driveway after cutting into a slope. Slope is no higher than 1m at its max. The wall will be double with blocks to hold soil in and bricks on facing side all tied in. So I know solid concrete blocks will manage to retain this slope. However could I get away...

    Solution for 44mm frames

They are rebated frames. Didn't want to add any strips because you see the join line. if I sunk the 40mm doors in then I guess the doors will not swing open fully either as the hinges are inset further. Anyone know if you can 44mm non fire rated doors or recommend suppliers of 44mm doors...

    Solution for 44mm frames

I have a 1930s house. All the frames are 44mm thick. I need to replace all internal 13 doors with 5 of them glazed. Struggling to find 44mm doors they seem to be almost double the price of standard 35mm thick doors as most seem to be fire doors. Looking for oak type. There is no real option...

    Combi boiler conversion

If 17 litres/min mains flow is not enough for the vaillant 937 then maybe I can feed it off an accumulator which I believe can increase my flow rate. Anyone any experience of this?
