I read the forums regularly - Mainly the Electrics UK, and I have to say that I enjoy reading BAS's posts. If there are people who seem to dislike him and his posts so much, why don't they just put him on ignore?

One idea I have (one which would never be accepted, but...) is for some kind of compulsory sterilisation as soon as a child reaches the age when they could procreate. This would be a temporary sterilisation of course! Possibly some form of implant or injection. This would be given to both boys...

I don't believe there is a legal solution to the problems of over-population, but I am a strong believer in people paying more tax if they have children. Perhaps an extra 5% for every child they have? I really don't see why tax from my hard earned wages should go towards someone elses child...

Actually, the guy from Western Power said he didn't mind us using soil pipe, but said the flexible ducting was much easier. And, the hole is already dug, and yes I went very gingerly because not only of the live cable, but also the live gas pipe that lives nearby :P

Hello! I'm working on a big renovation and we have a new electrical supply being laid on Monday. The guy from Western Power told us to dig until we expose the existing cable (they are tapping into it), and then provide them with a length of black flexible ducting for their new cable to run...

My accountant charges me £300 to complete my self assessment tax return. I just give him my income/expenditure figures (no fancy spreadsheets :wink: ) and he does the rest. I can't complain!

I'm wondering if the installers didn't use silicone/colourfill before the worktops were bolted together.

Thanks, SuffolkLad. All this time I just assumed it was a hardware problem. Now I can see just how much damage the dust can do.

Ok, I left the pc off for about 6 hours while I was out. I've now opened it up and found it to be a bit dusty, but nothing too bad... Until, I looked closely at the cooling fan. I unscrewed its cover and found it to be almost totally full of thick dust. It reminded me of a filter on a neglected...

Thanks, Breezer. It's just a continuous beep. I have to physically turn the pc off to get rid of it. I'm going to power down now for a few hours, open the pc later and clean inside and check all the connections.
