    weeping joint on lead pipe

your best bet would be to get a transition coupling, and cut the pipe back a bit, and do this because by the looks of it, someone has already had a go at repairing it with PTFE tape, i get transition couplings from my local supplier, but i think BSS stock them aswell Jim

Alternatives to Keston boilers - need narrow flue

As far as I can tell, the Powermax is an attempt at an integrated thermal store & boiler - what little I can find on them isn't complimentary about their reliability  yes simon, the powermax is a thermal store, but i have worked on a few powermaxes over the last few years, and pretty...

Alternatives to Keston boilers - need narrow flue

Baxi/potterton do the powermax boiler which uses twin flue, and this is not plastic flueing, its metal. oh yeah and nearly forgot to slate keston boilers before i left!! i would rather have intimate relations with my dad, before fitting a keston, or reccomending them, they are awfull boilers!!

    leaking aav

i totally agree with you about me not eating whats on my magnaclean fitted on my own system, cause i wouldn't, but its a difference of opinion on this subject, i have my views and you have yours, and yes i agree that a dirty system will bugger aav's, but mine and a few others i have changed...

    leaking aav

not every leaking aav is caused by dirt, i have had a completly clean system in my own house with a leaking aav, dirt could be the problem, but the engineer who drains the system to change the aav will assess the situation, not everything is down to a dirty system

Finally which ever gas he uses, he's gonna need the water out the pipe :( if you use the yellow rothenberger bottle, (mapp) gas, if there is a bit of water left in the pipe, you still get enough heat for the solder to run, i use it all the time, if there is any possibillity of water in...
