Hi, I am just about to decorate my living room which requires a fair bit of work doing to it: So I planned on taking the rad off the wall. I would obviously like to keep the rad off but still heat the rest of the house whilst I'm plastering etc. Is this possible? Thanks

Hello there, I have a living flame gas fire with a brass surround and brass front-grill/grate thing. I can't afford a new fire but I can't stand the brass. Is it possible to sand it down/key the surface and then paint it with black fire-proof paint? Thank you
