Hi,

I am just about to decorate my living room which requires a fair bit of work doing to it: So I planned on taking the rad off the wall.

I would obviously like to keep the rad off but still heat the rest of the house whilst I'm plastering etc.

Is this possible?

Thanks

As long as you can turn off both rad valves and theyv dont leak then it is.

Even if they do leak then they could be capped by someone with a little knowledge of plumbing.

After shutting both valves, you could slacken off both fittings (place a old towel or similar round the base of the pipes to catch drips), lift the rad up & lay on packers on the floor. Then tighten the fittings back up & your all set to do whatever to your wall. I'm just about to do our hall one tomorrow before painting.
