  • the cost of the installation is dependant on a few things.
    type of liner,( personally i would always use a 904 grade). the access to the chimney top, ( do you need to get scaffold)? does you stove/woodburner require ventillation. (yes if the output is over 5Kw). hard to give you an exact cost jonhol, but i would think buy the time you had someone in to supply and fit the liner- insulate the thing- fit the stove- carbon monoxide detector and issue a certificate you would not get any change from £800. sorry if i have spoiled your weekend. you could always do it youself under a building notice, (go to building control in your council for that), the cost would be around £150.00. but as the rules have just changed, the bullding inspector should now have to be registered, putting the cost to you up. all that done, the appliance still has to be commissioned. best of luck hope it all goes well. drop me a line if you have any more questions. and the big house syndrome is unfortunate, but not everybody uses it as an excuse to charge more.
