Hello rocks1 Just a final update on the problem. Took the front of machine off. Poured about 15 litres of water into the drum. No leaks at all to be seen. The problem was overfilling I'm sure. Checked/cleaned everything again. Put it back together and switched on. No water entering the machine...

Thanks rocks1 I'll try again in the morning. Before I notice the water leaking from under the machine the drum looks as if it's about half full of water. After cancelling the program I drained about four buckets full of water out of the machine.

hello rocks1 Fitted a new heater element today. Water flowed into the machine and it worked ok for about ten minutes. Then water appeared on the floor under the washer. I cancelled the program. I noticed that the water could be heard flowing into the machine all the time. It was obvious that...

Yes, I'm pretty sure. Didn't detect any water leaking from the pressure bulb. I'll have to get a new heater element. The element in my machine was really difficult to move. I didn't get it out very far. I must have damaged the gasket then. I then re-tightened it....to no avail.

ok rocks1 I'll check that. Sorry to ask again, but would the heater element fault cause no water at all entering the machine at the start of a cycle. That's what happens with this machine. The element is quite hard to get out. Needs a bit of force. Not quite out yet. the thermistor doesn't...

Thanks rocks1. So the earth leak would cause no water intake from the cold and hot water supply to the machine. As you can tell I haven't worked on washing machines before.

Checked resistance of heater element. About 26 ohms so I presume it must be ok. Anything else I could check?
