    solid wood worktop / laiminate

Just been speccing a kitchen myself. I like solid wood because I want to radius corners and edge-profile it which you obviously cant do with laminate. I finally chose bamboo because of sustainability issues.

    Bed rail hangers

Hi. I'm making a bed and need to get some hangers to join the bed rails to the headboard / footboard. I've seen things like this: http://store.workshopsupply.com/catalogue/product_info.php?products_id=400 but I cant find where to get them in the UK. Does anyone know where to get them and...

    DIY basement tanking and guarantees

Thanks Jerry. I dont think I'd ever try claiming against guarantee if I've put it in. Sort of my own fault if it goes wrong! I was more concerned about when I come to sell it; will people run a mile?

    Wet Bricks

If the room is cold and damp and the tiles are wet it is probably condensation, however it is difficult to diagnose from this description. Any photos?

    DIY basement tanking and guarantees

Im tanking a basement with studded membrane. Need to do it myself because relatively poor! I note the manufacturer of the membrane says guaranteed for 20 yrs if installed to manufacturers specifications. Does this mean that if I can prove it was installed right it it will be guaranteed?

There are several problems: 1)Slab at the top is worn so keeps a puddle of water on it when wet (great in winter when it freezes). Previous owner cut out a drainage channel with an angle grinder to...

Oh yeah, how deep should the trench be and does it need reinforcing? I'm totally new to this.

    Foundation for brick pillar gateposts

Wow, that was quick! Take your point, but there is a stone step in between. Admittedly it is worn, so it could be broken out. What do you reckon?

    Foundation for brick pillar gateposts

Ive had a look through the forum and couldn't find what I was looking for. I need to build 2 brick gateposts where an old Victorian brick wall used to be. It needs to be 10 bricks above ground. How do I go about the foundations? BTW, the reason the wall is being replaced is that the old one is...
