    i think the painted ones never look great but if you're on a v tight budget it might be the only way, prep them well though and use good quality paints. Plenty of colours available but i always like white/cream. have you tried ikea for doors they're pretty reasonable for the basic designs

    yes i tried it and frankly its cr** cost alot and either the paint didn't come out atall or it flooded out like water. Seems that if you don't get the consistency just right there's no chance, i never managed it. just threw it away in the end and brought a standard roller, hence my post about...

    personally i'd avoid the whole painting door thing, just throw the old ones out and buy some new doors and handles but keep the old carcasses

    I have absolutely no problem with others pointing out when info is incorrect, in fact its all very useful for me aswell, however i do wish you'd just post the facts and hold off on the sarcastic comments, they really aren't necessary and just cause aggro.

    think my 5 mins was prerhaps a bit generous but this idea wouldn't involve any other equipment, you just need some water, not a hose jet or a spinner etc. any other comments?

    well we did 5 years ago and they're still firmly fixed!! obviously used waterproof adhesive as well

    i find that using a 'silk' emulsion helps prevent the marks

    Yep you can tile onto plaster but its best to prime the wall first with a watered down pva solution so the adhesive bonds properly.

    Ok so we all hate the time consuming task but what if there were an easy to clean ie 5mins roller, would you buy it? for a few pounds more than the usual price, means you can get it properly clean every time would love any comments cheers :D
