How long to dry out pebbledash?

I've been getting water coming in through pebbledash on a bay window, and causing damp. I've been advised to seal it with Thompsons Water Seal, but obviously it's best to do this when it's nice and dry. (I've also been advised to seal the joints with the brickwork with silicone.) How would I...

    Thermostat doesn't turn boiler off

Thanks for your help, D_Hailsham. Yep, I came to the same conclusion that the wireless link from the thermostat is OK. We have a winner. I didn't want to start taking things apart but I gave the installer a ring. He had an electrician round here within the hour! As you suspect it was a...

    Thermostat doesn't turn boiler off

I turned the heating on about half an hour ago with the thermostat set to max (30 deg) as a test. The wireless receiver has a green LED lit. I've just turned the thermostat down. There is a click from the wireless receiver and the green light goes out. The red light on the thermostat...

    Thermostat doesn't turn boiler off

Hello all, hope you can help I have a Valliant Ecotec pro 24, for heating & instant HW. This was installed earlier this year as a replacement for my 20-year old boiler. 3-bed terrace with 8 radiators, 7 of which have TRVs. There is also a wireless roomstat in the hallway, and a timer on...

    Replacing a combi boiler

Free? I like free. I'm guessing there must be some kind of server somewhere. Once the thermostat has talked to the gadget plugged into the router, it has to find its way over the internet to link up with whatever phone/ browser you will use to control it. I've emailed Salus to ask them.

    Replacing a combi boiler

I've just checked them out and it looks good. One thing which concerns me is that the service presumably relies on software running on a server somewhere. What's to stop them introducing an annual fee for this (or indeed going out of business, leaving me with a useless app)? The same's...

    Replacing a combi boiler

Thanks. I will ask what's included in the servicing. I'm guessing it's geared towards complying with the manufacturers specifications, more than any preventative maintenance! My instinct was also to go for a shorter warranty and not tie myself into annual servicing. Magnaclean - How do I...

    Replacing a combi boiler

Hope someone on here can help. I have a Worcester 9.24 combi boiler in my 3-bed end-terrace house. This does me for CH and HW. It's working, just, but it's erratic, and costing me a few hundred pounds each year in repairs. It's also very inefficient: 65% according to SEDBUK. I'm using 18,000...

Kitchen: inspiration for a small space needed pls!

Thanks for the suggestions. Swapping the door & window isn't an option - I think the pedestrians walking along the pavement outside might be a bit unimpressed! I had thought of going open plan with the dining room but there are limitations. It's a supporting wall, and there is a...
