Ok so not moving the saw from a 45-degree position on the left-hand side of the saw should cut 1 and 2 be the same? Cut 1 being the left of the centre and cut 2 being the right of the centre.

I don't get on with the water-based I find them hard to use. I've only just stopped using gloss and started with satin. I recently tried a water based Satin and found it extremely thick even after stirring. In addition, it dries so quickly and leaves the most awful brush marks.

Can anybody please advise on a suitable alternative replacement for a torbeck cistern valve? I would hopefully like to try a different type of fill valve. Because of the hard water I have, the torbeck suffers from scale and I also find them awkward when changing the diaphragm.

I have a bit of a dilemma. I have a quantity of builders sand and I would appreciate your opinions on mixing it with gravel to make concrete. The intended use would be to secure fence posts. I should say I usually always use ballast or sharp sand and gravel.
