i read your post about rafter cuts.
i reckon gangman told you wrong.
if you set a chopsaw to 40 degrees then cut the plumb cut (the highest pint on the rafter) that will be right.
the seat cuts (birdsmouth cuts) are all 50degree.
    all add up to 90degree.

the hip will be 60 at the top and 30 at the seat the vertical movement of the hip is done by cutting a bit more from the seat so the whole thing sits lower on the wall plate (never cut the top)
when you measure for a birds mouth, the measurement is taken leaving 2/3 wood still in place.
150mm will have 50mm cut out.
if you measure this point at 50mm then this point must be transfered to the top plum cut to find the length of the rafter. THIS is critical and where everyone goes wrong!
do not measure from the top of the rafter.
if yuo laid a 50 mm batten flush along the bottom edge of your rafter it will show where you need to measure from.

there are lots of different ways to play with a rafter and marking out and you will do some wrong, we all have, but your actual question needs your chop saw set at 40 for plumbs.
