Too hot too cold electric shower

Yeah, the behavious seems to have started with the central heating. I thought perhaps the shower was getting 'confused' with hot and cold water coming into it. Although, I don't know if the shower is only connected to a cold pipe as it is a self heating shower...very confused! jtaunton thanks...

    Door Entry System

The council denies owning the block of flats, however I'm puzzled as they were in charge of the lights in the tenement block. I'll speak to them again and see if I can make heads or tails of it. The flat is in fact owned by my brother, but I live there and look after it. (I have in fact...

Too hot too cold electric shower

Well, I have to say my nickname has done me pretty well in the past ;-)especially on the topic of diy! lol The shower is actually cold when its dribbling (this is according to my flatmate). I haven't actually had a major problem with the shower first hand apart from it getting far too hot...

Too hot too cold electric shower

Well, the plumbing should all be fine as it hasn't been touched since it did work, but the temperature is all over the place so I'm guessing a problem with the electric shower itself....

    Door Entry System

Yeha, thats the first thing I thought of but they say that only the lights are looked after in the tenement, not the door entry system leaving me very confused! I think they are fibbing!

    Door Entry System

I live in a tenement block and was also wondering how to make the door entry system work properly. Currently you can hear the buzzer go and buzz people in, however you cannot speak to them or hear them. There are a few cables that aren't connected but I'm not sure what to connect them to...

Too hot too cold electric shower

Hi, My power shower has recently started getting either really hot or really cold with low water pressure. Its an electric self heating shower and the only thing i can think is wrong with it is the thermostat (a wild guess!) but this doesnt explain the pressure. We recently had central...

How to build a boioler cupboard?

Hi guys, Thanks for the advise. Masona, thats a really useful site, I should be able to use that for a couple things I am trying to do! Petewood, the boiler is in the corner on the left hand side of the window so that sounds like the best way of doing it, thanks. The only thing is on one...

How to build a boioler cupboard?

Well, I just got a quote from a guy to box some pipes in, build a cupboard, and do a bit of framing up...he has quoted me £900 plus VAT!! So, instead of this, I thought I would do the majority of it myself. I'm pretty new to DIY but I am learning quickly I'm happy to say. Already...

Framing pipes in the kitchen (and possibly some others)

I can imagine that would look good on smaller bits of pipe. There are two pipes running parallel along the ceiling, and there is a space between them so boxing them in seems like the only viable option.. We wouldn't of had this problem originally if Transco had told us we couldn't put the...

Framing pipes in the kitchen (and possibly some others)

Ok, while I am toying with the idea of doing this myself to save waiting. I just thought I'd ask if anyone had an idea of a resonable estimate for the following; boxing in approx 2 1/2 metres of straight pipes. boxing in a gas metre skirting board for a medium sized room Framing of a 3...

Framing pipes in the kitchen (and possibly some others)

Hey, Thanks, that makes sense. Don't know why I didn't think of that. I was thinking about 2 pieces of ply and some super polyadhesive ;) Think my brain dissolved over xmas! Minxka

Framing pipes in the kitchen (and possibly some others)

Hi, There are some pipes on the left hand side of the sink which need framing up. It is only a short length of pipe which looks like it would only need two bits of wood to frame up. I need to do this before I can tile, and I would like to tile onto this wood aswell. Just wondering if it...

    Cooker hood extractor outlet

Hi, I am going to (attempt) to install a new cooker hood with an extractor this weekend. There is an extractor hose already in the ceiling from an old extractor fan which I am going to use for the new cooker hood. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on drilling a hole in the...
