I took my computer to have a new solid state drive fitted in place of its hard drive. I asked them to give me the old hard drive. The computer has a second hard drive for storage purposes, which has remained in place.
I have kit of cables and a power supply which allows me to connect the old...
I'm thinking of getting a Y-Cam wireless CCTV camera to mount on my garage and look at the back of my house - specifically the patio door.
If I get an outdoor camera it'll be vulnerable as the garage isn't very high.
I was thinking of getting an indoor camera, cutting a hole in the wall of...
I like the sound of this - would you be able to tell me a bit more about it and where to find the Ethernet Module? Presumably it can connect via Wi-Fi or does it need a Cat5 cable to my router??
I’ve got a Texecom Veritas R8 alarm system which a relative installed for me about 15 years ago. As I understand it it’s a fairly basic system, but it seems very reliable.
I’ve had experience of changing some of the PIRs for pet-proof ones, swapping one PIR for a reed swich on the back door...
I think multitools are fantastic and I'd not want to be without mine.
The Bosch PMF180 is a good one to get at about £60 if you want to try one.

I don't know how long they have been out but I've only just discovered them. It's TINY and works really well.
Not bad for £40 inc delivery
Not so good for making calls but great for receiving them.
Well my original question seems to have sparked a fair bit of comment!
Just for the record, once my broadband was connected I set it up with the router plugged into a filter in my bedroom and got about 13 mbps.
Today I have finally wired in my fancy filtered faceplate and dedicated...
Update on the above query.
I put the SIM from the Vodafone mobile into another mobile and rang the landline successfully.
Then I put the SIM back in the original phone and manged to ring the landline so whatever problem it was was something to do with the mobile (Samsung Galaxy S2) and...
I've just revived my ununsed BT phone line with a landline and broadband from Plusnet and in the process I ported in my number that was previously on Sipgate.
It seems to work ok but the bizarre thing is I cannot ring in to my landline from my main mobile which is on Vodafone. I can ring in...
