    thanks for the help, im not too far from you - barry! having some crazy quotes, one came back as £830!!!! Think I might try to tackle this one myself. Can I just ask which size timber and width plasterboard would be best to use? We are also trying to keep some heat in so Im guessing insulation...

    hi there, the property is approx 1900's, and the walls are rubble filled from what I am told. I am uploading some pics now although they haven't come out very well. You can see the bubbling of the paint and the damp rings around the probe marks I was talking about. Hope you can help!

    ok, i take that on board thanks :) thing is though is the walls are sodden, and the paint has bubbled/flaked and the plaster is coming off the walls in some places. the wet walls have 2 electric plug sockets on too which concerns me quite a bit!

    Do I not need to give it a certain amount of time though? I was told the plaster would take a long time to dry out, but with all this bad weather I am seeing no sign of it!! Will give them a ring but with it being Easter may not be able to get hold of anyone yet.
