    question on TN-S earthing

Our system is on TN-S earthing and the connection with the supplier's cable from our earthing block is via what looks like a very small green wire not bigger than 2 or 3mm. I've seen a sketch on the iet forum and this shows a 16mm cable. Can we request that the DNO upgrade this or can they...

    tail repair / replacement

Hello, Does a customer need a certificate for replacing tails or simply repairing them? By repairing i mean terminating properly another bodge job left by previous owner. Tails to the meter have about 0.5cm exposed in the brown tail before it goes in terminal. I just want to know what to...

    gravel over existing slabs

it's an area of around 20 square meters and it is at the side of the house. The existing slabs drain the water towards a gully so i would also need some sort of gully mesh to prevent the gravel from dropping in the gully (assuming i can lay it over existing slabs).

    gravel over existing slabs

Hi, Is it wise to put gravel over existing paving slabs without taking these out? It would only be subjected to foot traffic. I've got horrible looking raised decking there at the moment which I want to take out. Thanks

    electricity meter

Hi, I was wondering what happens when our electricity meter reaches figure 99999. It's the old disk type and it is at 929 at the moment. Does it reset back to zero or "should" the supplier change auotmatically it once it is just under 99999? Thanks

dusk till dawn bulkhead not working

Hi, a bulkhead has stop working. I've tried replacing the bulb with a new one but it still won't come on. I've checked if there is power coming to the bulkhead from the switch and it seems ok. Any ideas what it could be? The model is a CFL IP65 bulkhead. I guess there is still a chance...
