Remember when the parts are cold they are "smaller" and they expand when making warmer - some damage part start touching earth or making shortcut. I suggest to replace whole appliance, can be cheaper... Regards Removed

First question is did they make chemical cleaning when they fit new boiler to remove rest of pastes and all dirty stuff from pipes? 2nd question - what type of boiler You have on the system and what system You have? Maybe they left pipes (part) old so system need to be powerflush when is new...

You can safety use butt connectors but You need crimping tool to do that. You have to make that very properly and please check after quality of the connections. After that all wire wrap insulation tape (that will give You double insulation). That connection when is done properly is safe Removed
