    Is the Quality of This Wood Unnacceptable

    Received order of 8ftx4ft marine plywood for timber framing, There is a gash out of one side of it going through the top layer and into the 2nd layer about 12inches by 2inches. Is this unnacceptable (as im feeling) or am i being overly neurotic. Should i return it ? All advice appreciated.

    New upvc window in wooden frame. My question is should i silicon along the bottom outside face or should i leave this unsealed to allow for drainage from inside the window to exit (although i dont see anywhere the water can actually exit the window frame). I dont want to seal the water in.
