Repair hole from extractor fan pipe.

Good idea, I think I will give the expanding foam a go, cap off with some left over UPVC and leaving the vent cover on the outside as patching up the brick work will look a bit crap. Cheers guys

Repair hole from extractor fan pipe.

I've just removed the plasterboard in my kitchen and found an old hole for an extractor fan pipe and an old hole for a 40mm waste pipe. They had been stuffed full of carrier bags. I've got an idea how to deal with the waste pipe hole - expanding foam and mortar to seal. But any ideas what...

    UPVC door Leaking

the back door has been fitted to some timber, which I believe was part of the old wooden door frame. This has become rotten at the base and is allowing water penetration. (See attached images) I was going to remove the door and replace this timber with treated CLS, refit the door and clad...

Vented the mag clean and all remaining rads. Then filled again to 1.5 bar I have the feeling it's probably going to be a call out now.

Viessmann 100W fault Code: F1 and now F2

At pressure and all vented. Any ideas what may have happened, as the hot tap was only on for around 30 seconds before I turned it off and went to check the boiler. According to the manual, the temperature limiter may have gone. I would need a multimeter to double check.

The central heating has been off for a couple of months now. I turned all the upstairs radiators off and drained the system the other week as I was removing the radiators downstairs, ready to decorate/ install new ones, the hot water has been working fine ever since with no problems. Today I...

Filling a void in the floor, ready for the installation of a log burner.

Thanks. I'm tiling the whole room so I'm planning to have a removable glass hearth once tiled. I've got the form to notify local building control, I was going to send it off once the installation kit arrives.

Filling a void in the floor, ready for the installation of a log burner.

Hi I've opened up my fireplace and installed a lintel ready for the installation of a 5KW, 85KG log burner. As I got down to floor level I noticed it was very damp, so I removed the quarry tiles and found soil. I am intending to hammer in some hardcore lay some DPM and fill the 3 inch void...
