The pump is running and all demand has ceased plus the hot water is 80 degrees even though the newly fitted cylinder thermostat is set to 50 degrees. So until I have checked the MV for 240Vs I presume the newly fitted Vv maybe faulty. :(
Hi onlyfitidealboilers,
With all due respect newbies have to start somewhere. As you know when you do your ACS it's purely on the gas side. Of course i'm very willing to learn and when time permits do the wet side. Gaining information and direction for a problem I have in my house from chaps...
Hi Tibbot,
Many thanks for you reply, I will endenvour to check it tomorrow and get back to you with the outcome. Do you have any idea whether the the balancing Vv shut be open, shut 50% or shut etc etc?

Hi
i'm a very newly qualified Gas Safe Engineer. I've not really touched on installs or the wet side either just servicing.
I have at home a Ideal Classic 40ff. It has it's pump on top of the boiler with a small expansion vessel, no FE tank in loft thus a pressurised system. Have a mega...
Hi all,
May I kindly ask if brown water is coming out of the hot taps only when the heating is on will that be a hole in the heating coil on the hot water tank????
Thanks guys
Yes when I took off the MVs both Vv moved freely by hand. I will see what happens over the next few days.
Many thanks again for all your valuable advice
Hi
Sorry Spraggo but for some reason the pump is now doing what it should do i.e when the demand ceases for HW the pump turns off. i'm completely confused now. Not sure what to do, thinking maybe this is an intermitent fault???? Do I change MV or have I got it wrong ? Just tested the HWMV &...

Afternoon Spraggo,
Here goes please bear with me. I isolated power at fuse spur at boiler marked CHMV and HWMV removed carefully and tested continuity after first testing the multi meter continuity. the CHMV was 0 and the HWMV was 1. Turned power back on and did another test with no demand...
I can confirm that the MV for the heating is working correctly. The heating went off as instructed by the timer and the MV operated. I can say the hot water is a little hotter than normal even though the cylinder stat is set at 55 degrees. I deselected the hot water so instructing the hot water...
Hi Spraggo
Thank you for your further advice
Turned off the hot water demand and just left the heating demand to once. Turned the thermostat to it's lowest position left it for about 15 mins but the pump is still turning. I can confirm the hot water had been on and so had the heating...
