Concrete for Garden Room - Advice please

I’m not 100% sure on the structure at the moment. Originally was going with brick but I think I might do a timber structure so I can do more myself (OK with a saw and hammer, no skills as a brickie!!!)

Concrete for Garden Room - Advice please

Hi, I’m planning to put down a concrete slab tot be the base for a small garden room. I’m planning the room to be 4x5m. I’m after some advice on how thick/deep a slab to pour and if I need to use a steel rebar mesh or not. Thanks in advance for any advice, Rob

    Replacing a lock shield valve

Hi All, I want to replace a lock shield valve in my central heating system. It’s a combo boiler system. If possible, I’d like to do it without draining the whole system. Is there a way to just drop the pressure so I can whip the old valve off and replace it without letting too much water out...

    Snapped Lock shield Valve

It’s a pressurised system. I was leaning towards draining the system down. I’m not a plumber either so I worry I’d end up with water everywhere and not be able to stop it!,

    Snapped Lock shield Valve

Hi All, I’ve been rehanging a radiator after decorating and I’ve managed to snap the top off the Lockshield valve (don’t know my own strength!!). It’s in the closed position so no water flowing but I’m wondering if there’s a way to change the bit that’s snapped off or is it a whole new...

Hi All, Looking for some advice about boarding out my loft and I can’t seem to find the answers elsewhere to my particular situation. I live in a steel framed house and in the loft the joists are 150m deep. There is insulation up there which is much higher than the joists. With the steel...

Insulating an Existing Internal Stud Wall

Thanks for the replies all. Much appreciated. Might try stuffing with glass fibre. The whole house has these type of walls so, if it works in my living room, might be an ongoing project.

Insulating an Existing Internal Stud Wall

Better Heat insulation and some acoustic deadening? Also considered using acoustic plasterboard when restoring the walls.

Insulating an Existing Internal Stud Wall

Hi All, Hoping I could get some advice on a project I'm thinking of taking on at home. I live in a 1960s house and the internal walls are all stud walls with nothing "in them". What I'd like to do is strip the plasterboard off, put in some form of insulation, I'm thinking of Lambswool...
