    ideal boiler - help

Thanks for your replies. Think the only option is to try another engineer or ditch the boiler and get a new one. Do you think that someone with specific knowledge of this type of boiler would be able to quickly find the problem? If so, can anyone recommend someone in Edinburgh?

It is starting to feel a bit like that, but he has been trying and I'm a bit afraid to cut and run. It took us quite awhile to actually get someone to come out. Guess it is the busy season... Was hoping that some ideas from this forum might enable me to help him through it. Appreciate the...

    lights on ring mains??

Sorry for delayed response - no internet over the weekend. I can get pictures tonight, but the situation is largely as davelx suggested. the ring mains has been looped through the ceiling roses and that the "spur" is the switch drop. i.e. standard loop-in/out way of wiring the rose, but...

    hot water system plumbing design??

Appreciate your comments Rob. The way you explain it, I can understand the need for an auto bypass valve. I guess what i have is a fairly agricultural version of same. Would you be surprised that this bypass flow is being controlled by a basic £1 isolating valve. Just for reference, I'm...

    hot water system plumbing design??

Spent the weekend trying to understand my central heating plumbing system. Looks like it has undergone several changes in its life. Once I got through all of the old unused pipes that have just been left in place, it appears to be a fairly standard gravity based system - boiler, HW...

    shower pump pipework design

Hi I am looking for a bit more pressure out of our en-suite shower (on an old gravity based system) so am thinking about getting a shower pump. Our En-suite backs on to our main bathroom. there are 22mm feeds for the hot and cold which have offshoots for all different units. Bathroom...
