Er have listened to all advice and we are at present trying to balance the system. I meant that if this all fails will have no alternative but to get professional help. For the heating and us it's doing our heads in.

The system is no different from when the rad was connected in the kitchen however I'm no expert when it comes to distance from boiler etc. Will be getting a new plumber to come take a look on Monday. Thank you for all your advice.

Yes both valves were open. Currently we have turned off all the other rads, have turned off the pump and have opened the bleed valve, water is coming out and the pipe to the rad is starting to feel warm, so warm water is flowing by gravity only at the moment as the pump is off.
