    Bitumen and ufh

I've removed a old parquet flooring which was glued down with bitumen. I want to install ufh over the top, what's best way to do this over a floor that was previously glued with bitumen?

    Ufh overlay boards

I'm being advised by builder not to use laminate and to go with engineered over the ufh boards. He said laminate will cause issues down the line. My preference is laminate due to costs but I dnt want to run into any issues.

    Ufh overlay boards

Ok I may just leave the underlay alone and do direct on top

    Ufh overlay boards

Ok thnx. It's a bit confusing because when I'm looking at eps boards it saying check to see which underlay is recommended for laminate or engineered. But from what yr saying no underlay is required and the laminate can sit directly ontop of eps without underlay

    Ufh overlay boards

Can laminate flooring be installed the same way directly onto the boards or would it need a underlay with it on top of the eps board? I'm also wondering if any screeding needs to be done on top of the boards and pipe first?

Which overlay can I use around the whole bungalow over concrete for this purpose?

    Ufh overlay boards

I'm mixing a new extension with the existing house. The old part of house is just a concrete slab no insulation. I need to build this height up by 25mm overlay boards for ufh to match the new extension. Can I just put 25mm ufh overlay boards straight over the concrete, then lay a floating...

    Block and beam floor

Can you lay blockwork on top of block and beam floor to create a wall partition, they will not be load bearing just on single storey with flat roof aboce. I want to subdivided the floor area into 3 separate rooms.

    No planning permission

This is all that's been done on the floor level, and work was halted since. Could the gap cause a issue with the planners up to the boundary, as it tapers in towards the end. The neighbour has no issues with me putting up a single storey this close.

    No planning permission

Having a false pitched roof won't fall foul of being PD? Just worried incase they make a issue out of it

    No planning permission

We not continuing. That is as far as the works got. The acros have been removed and supported by steels. Work has since stopped, its a old pic before steels went in. Nothing has been built past floor level. Planning permission has been applied for this week. I'm just thinking if I got refused...

    No planning permission

So if I was to build under PD, here are facts. I can go up to 8m as I'm a detached bungalow. I'm not within 2m of the boundary fence, so the 3m height rule to the eaves applies. So from this pic where would the flat roof go up to be below the eaves, is that below gutters? Or above the gutter...

    No planning permission

What happens if you build a extension and have building regs but no planning permission? Here's the story: Doing a 10m side extension, got building inspector involved and all going good with foundation etc. Extension is about to go up and we been told it doesn't come under PD. Do I carry on...

    UFH over flooring guidance

Can the no more ply be left floating over the kingspan 100mm insulation? Or does it have to be glued down in anyway. Then the Eps overlay left floating?
