Where does the PRV need to go?

Just wanted a few people to confirm what I suspected that's all. As I said it's kind of awkward when you're trying to tell someone who installs bathrooms for a living that what they've done is wrong based on what you've read on the internet. He's considerably older than me and a friend of my dad...

Where does the PRV need to go?

Message understood. As it happens, I've tested the mains pressure and it's around 5.5 bar at present. Though the Mira manual doesn't clearly specify a recommended pressure as such, it states that the 'max maintained pressure' is 5 bar. Do I even need the PRV anywhere? Is 3 bar for both feeds...

Where does the PRV need to go?

Seems a bit harsh? :? It's not easy telling someone who's saying they have experience of being right that they're wrong. I'm not a professional plumber, just a homeowner of slightly over one year. Hence asking on here.

Where does the PRV need to go?

The whining noise is definitely coming from the shower valve. Thanks for the replies though folks, I think I'll just have to tell him that I want the PRV moved for my peace of mind, even if adjusting it in situ appears to 'work' in eliminating this noise. It just doesn't appear to be the...

Where does the PRV need to go?

I've bought a cheap pressure tester to put on the outside tap and see what pressure the mains (and therefore the hot water to the shower) is coming in at. What constitutes a relatively high pressure?

Where does the PRV need to go?

Thanks for the reply. Any other opinions? Builder is still suggesting I just need to up the PRV setting but wouldn't it just make more sense to have them equal pressures throughout the system? I'd rather not have to have to alter this again further down the line.

Where does the PRV need to go?

Pretty sure he's a plumber by trade. But anyway - PRV before the boiler for you?

Where does the PRV need to go?

Just in relation to what I said about nothing changing, the only thing I can think of is that we had our boiler serviced after the bathroom was completed. No parts were replaced and the plumber actually said it was running perfectly well. Is there any way he could have upset something? Or is the...

Where does the PRV need to go?

Aye well it says in the installation manual for the shower that the pressures should be nominally equal, that's why I agreed with Mira initially too but I'm just a homeowner so I feel a bit daft arguing with someone who does it for a living. Yeah I suppose another PRV is a possibility, but is...

Where does the PRV need to go?

He's a spot on bloke to be fair and we're delighted with the bathroom in general. I assume you disagree with him on this issue though?

Where does the PRV need to go?

Hi there, hoping to find an answer on this as I've read varying opinions across the net. We had a new bathroom installed earlier in the year and part of that is a Mira thermostatic shower fed from our Greenstar 30si combi boiler. We have powerful mains pressure and our builder installed a...
