Going to install some in my garden.

Anyone have any advice with common errors and good practice?

Any brands you recommend?

Thanks!

I tried this in the UK using 4 pop-up sprinklers I got in USA and connected them using pipes I got from B&Q.
For me it never worked properly as when I switched on the water the pop-up sprinklers would only half pop-up and the water spray was poor!

My realisation was that I did not have enough water pressure for 4 normal sprinklers, never mind 4 pop-up sprinklers (which needs pressure to overcome springs) and that I should not have piped them in a linear fashion (pipe goes from tap to pipe to pop-up No1, to pipe to pop-up No2, to pipe to pop-up No3, to pipe to pop-up No4, stop) as the water pressure at No4 was near zero. I think I should have had a manifold at the tap and equal lengths of pipe, and of course much higher water pressure. But I never read up or tried to see if this was a good solution as I gave up and bought one normal sprinkler that I move around garden :<

So my suggestions are
1) Read up on a USA based site and see what they do in real life. (which I did not do).
2) Have a quick try out with two normal water sprinklers on your hose pipe and see if you have enough pressure.
3) When you buy the parts, test the system by laying out on ground BEFORE you dig trenches in Garden and then find you designed it wrong.

Good luck and please tell us how you got along,
SFK
