Who fancies one of these?

You mean that we are permitted to celebrate something British that some bleeding heart liberal dogooder isn't opposed to? Jeepers, party on dudes :D

It will be banned by when the bleeding heart PC brigade cotton on.
True. I can see the Bacon national day taking off, but, with the Green Party and bleeding heart brigade, could you imagine a National Quorn day? :D

Celebrate national bacon day with some pigs in blankets (sausage wrapped in bacon). In fact an image of the real thing reminds of certain people. :D:D

I hope not, Sqeakette is vegetarian so although I eat meat, I do also cook quite a lot of Quorn too. Since Mo Farrah has been advertising his 'Corn Minnn' it's become more difficult to get.

Quorn was grown from a fungus found in soil. Yummy yumm yumm. It has to be treated to remove toxins. Yumm. Tastes a bit shiite too. And I speak as somone who does not eat meat (but I eat fish). I recommend you search out dried tofu, not the very dry stuff, but the kind that is eateable raw. I love it. It is the brown squares in the first photo:

The spiced version is nice raw, and also sliced and used in stir fries and noodle soup. You can also buy a totally dry form that has to be soaked, and can be nice if cooked in a spicy sauce. Far better than that Quorn stuff, which is a bit rank to my tastes.
