hi, i bought a glaxy g3 144 off ebay for some garages in the back garden, it works but i cant reset it to reset the engineers code, i have tried trying to reset it using the shorted pins etc that i have found on the internet, there is a secom badge on the front, just wondered if someone knew how to reset it or if they knew the code to reset it, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks joe

if the default procedure doesn't work the panel may have the NVM locked, unfortunately the panel is probably useless unless there is a back door, or a special way of unlocking secom panels, secom do sometimes have there own special firmware for panels.

engineers shouldn't advise on the procedure if known, some may though.

It is not possible to reset the engineer code on the G3 range without deleting all settings, codes, programming etc. The method to completely wipe a panel is pretty much common sense - and is described in the manual. If you are close enough to the panel to default it then either it's already going off, or it's so badly installed that there are other ways to get around it.

Also, NVM lock isn't a thing on Galaxy - that's a Texecom and Scanny thing.

Defaulting a Galaxy G3 doesn't involve shorting pins, so your on the wrong path there. Not sure if I should say how it's done for security reasons?

No, you should not give that sort of information about ANY control panel in an open forum.

You/we have no idea to whom you will be replying

Are you an alarm engineer or not?

hi, thanks for the replies, yes i understand about giving info out on a public forum, ive attached a pic of the unit to show it isnt on the wall of my local asda, ive read through the manual and it says i can do it through the engineer menus, only probably is most of the engineer catagories have been locked, i know the user code and the engineer code but i dont know the manager code, is there no way of master resetting from the board? also is there any way of telling if the keypad is keyprox or not? thanks joe

The Master Manager Code could also be needed, to give access, to an Engineer, to be able to enter their code, another problem to think about
