Give it a good dose of dishwasher cleaner. This cleared a surprising amount of goo from ours (and it was new at Christmas too; it doesn't take long it seems). Even if it doesn't cure the problem for you, at least you'll be working with a clean machine. Regards, Mike

This advice has been a godsend - my Performa 1100 stopped drying over a year ago and we've used our other machine since. That died completely yesterday, so having swapped them back over I've used this advice - and it works as a drier again too! Many thanks. Mike
