Which tool to remove tiles from concrete floor

Hi I am hoping to remove old files from a concrete floor (utility room and toilet). Did one by hand with a club hammer and wide chisel which worked but took absolutley ages. I don't have any suitable electric tools so looking to hire a tool to get it done quickly. What is the best option...

Cistern doesn't stop filling - need some advice!

That's the strange thing, the float valve does move up (i'd adjusted it so it moves up sooner, to see if it would help fix the problem). The float moves up, and the valve at the top closes, but the water continues. It then randomly stops when it feels like it, without any further movement of...

Cistern doesn't stop filling - need some advice!

Updated so the video works now. Would the washer be causing the water flow to be restricted? If you look at the video, it almost appears to be partially blocked. Should also mention that it doesn't do this every time, tends to be every 2/3 flushes.

Cistern doesn't stop filling - need some advice!

Hi, I have a Macdee concealed cistern. It's recently started to overfill, which results in litres of unnecessary water running down the toilet. The float moves to the top at the right time (I've tried adjusting it), but the water continues to come through, dispite the valve being closed...

Any gas fire fitters near LEEDS here?

Hi, I have a house built in 1995, which has a functonal but not-nice-to-look-at gas fire / fireplace. I'm looking to replace it, however this seems to be a bit of a mine-field. I'm on a tight budget, but don't want to get a fire that is going to break after a year. Are there any gas...

    Replace gas fire and surround

Thanks for the reply and the suggested retailers - I'll try them both. The fire that is there currently is already a modern gas fire, hearth and surround, it just doesn't suit the style of the room. So, the gas suply / pipework etc is there, the flue is there, I believe it would be a...

    Replace gas fire and surround

Hi, I have a functional but unattractive gas fire and surround in my living room which I'd like to replace. Would anyone be able to suggest how much I should expect to pay for someone to remove the old and install the new fire, surround and hearth? (Just the cost of labour) Also, would...

    Cooker hood fitting question

Hi, I'm looking at getting this cooker hood: http://www.baumatic.co.uk/products/catalogue/cookerhoods/BT7.3GL The user manual (pdf on that page above) says the height is 583mm - 1083mm. Does this mean that the chimney part is adjustable to be between 583 and 1083mm from the ceiling...

Quick question about removing a radiator

Won't there still be pressure in the system which would come out when I actually remove the radiator but before I can put the caps on?

Quick question about removing a radiator

Hi, I need to permenantly remove one radiator, and there will be a kitchen unit going over where the pipes currently come out of the floor. How do I remove the radiator and cap off the remaining pipes? Do I have to drain the whole central heating system so I don't get water everywhere...

Install dishwasher next to existing washing machine

Thanks for the reply. I don't have the dishwasher yet, so not sure if it needs hot and cold. Washing machine just uses cold, so the hot supply is currently unused. (Its the opposite side of the kitchen from the sink) How would I fit and extra stand pipe?

Install dishwasher next to existing washing machine

Hi, I'm hoping to install a slimline dishwasher in place of a cupboard which is next to my washing machine. What would I need to do to take a water feed from the existing washing machine water supply, and to sort out the waste? (currently theres a stand pipe for the washing machine)...
