    turf lifter hire.

I have used turf cutters a few times. They are aesy to operate. Not on hard ground maybe. When I have done work like this, I remove the turf then rotovate and level. Or add any contours you may want. Then top up with topsoil if necessary. .Spend some time doing this using a rake and spasle.

    Substation and land around it.

I have a small substation next door to me. This is built on land that looks as if it originally was taken from my garden. I think this because of how my garden boundry goes around it. Chippings instead of hardcore ?

Yes I think thats what he meant. Nothings been agreed as to exactly whats getting put down as yet. There is a lot of clearing to do first. Based on what I already understand and the good advice I have been given here. I think I'll just get him to do the clearing. Thanks.

    Halogen Lighting overheating

One thing you shouldnt be doing is replacing overheating/melting transformers. Stop using the circuit until you find the reason it is failing.

    Lawn help

Just break up the path with a sledgehammer and clear the rubbish. Then hire a turf cutter and take off the top layer. Hire a rotovator and rotovate the soil pulling out stones and weeds etc as you go. Rake it about where you want it. Screed with river sand and lay your turf.

Any ideas for my garden welcome

I would start with the lawn because for not a great deal of time, money and work, you can turn something ugly into something beautiful quite easily. Good project for a beginner. When you stand back and look at it knowing you did it yourself its a good feeling. Gets you into it.
