Search on the CD-Rewriter's website for any firmware updates for the drive. Upgrading the firmware could help to solve the problem. What happens when you insert a CD, How does the "disc-in" light behave? Does it just slowly flash Hope this helps Martin

oh yea, doh!!!. Just checked, does not give any indication that the unit is running. No noise or anything but the pump is very hot. Sometimes I do hear humming noise but this comes and goes. May just be water running though the pipes. cheers Martin
