i am getting both hot water and heating so how would i tell if it was the valve causing this problem? would the faulty valve cause both issues?

yes the boiler fires up, reaches the temperature set on the boiler 65C, cuts out with S5 then S7 status code, cools down to approx 40C then fires up again. this cycle continues indefinitely.

I have done all of the above and still no luck. When I am draining the system, I connect a hose to the return to the boiler and only a trickle of water comes out. Is this evidence of an air lock or does this signify a physical blockage?
