joy! - local plumbers merchants had in a gravity indirect cylinder (previously mis-ordered by someone) similar size to what i was after - and the difference is in the primary connections positions - on this 1050mm high cyl, the connections are about 600mm+ apart rather than say 300 on a fully...

how does a gravity indirect cylinder differ from a pumped indirect cylinder? it appears that gravity indirect cylinders are hard to come by...

converting the system to fully pumped is just not an option right now... is the general consensus that an indirect cylinder designed for fully pumped just won't work with a gravity system?

oh.... what does an indirect cylinder for gravity hot water look like relative to a pumped indirect ccylinder? this sounds like a spanner in the works. doh.

sorry to sound so dumb... do you mean that the tee should be level with the cylinder connection - presumably so any air goes up the vent? thanks,

What i meant was, I'm not sure what twgas meant when he said the pipe "must not rise from the tee to the cylinder"... what is the orientation of the tee and which direction does it go to get up to the F&E cistern?
