    Apologies for hijacking this thread, but it is relevent ............ I have no mains power in my bathroom - no electric shower, shaver socket or heater, and the lights are 12V downlighters. Am I right in assuming that no bonding is required?

    I was planning on using a 20 amp MCB with 2.5 T&E. The CU is also in the utility room and the length of the radial will be no more than 10 metres and will be used for water softener, fridge/freezer, and washing machine. Would I really need to use 4.0mm T&E for this?

    Thanks - sounds like it's probably a reasonable quote then. The referece to replacing the light switch cables was 'cos the existing ones have no earth.

    I have been quoted for a replacement fusebox and it seems a bit pricey. The electrician told me I need to have some additional work done as well and he's asking £450 for labour. Here's what his quote says: 1) Add earth bonding to water service 2) Upgrade main earth conductor to 16mm 3)...
