    Max number of Watts on downstairs lighting circuit

    Sorry another post. I have a 5 amp downstair light circuit that is now loaded with the below: 12 x 60 w normal bulbs 23 x 50 w halogen total watts = 1870 1870 / 230 = 8.13 Amps ! However Ive had all the lights on at once at so far, so good. Is this ok?

    Need to drill a hole in joist near to wall - is this OK?

    Hi, I am fitting a new radiator and need to drill two small holes in the floor joists for 15mm pipe. However I was planning on drilling these in parallel about 30 cm from the wall, which I now read is probably against building regs - any ideas apart form re-routing the plumbing? Croz
